El proyecto pretende potenciar el centro histórico y dar más espacios a peatones y ciclistas
El equipo ganador es de origen chileno-británico y esta conformado por Lyon-Bosch Arquitectos + IDOM Ingeniería y Consultoría + Groundlab Landscape Urbanism + Sergio Chiquetto y bajo la dirección de arquitecto José Alfredo Ramírez, el cual se adjudicó el contrato de desarrollo del proyecto de diseño urbano e ingeniería.
Según indica el proyecto, la propuesta busca instaurar una imagen unitaria y coherente que entregue una identidad de metrópoli a la ciudad y al mismo tiempo reconoce las particularidades de los distintos sectores.
La organización explica que la propuesta de Plan Maestro presenta una estrategia de diseño de las infraestructuras, que responde a las demandas planteadas para el eje mediante el uso racional y estratégico de los recursos y el espacio disponible.
Otro elemento que se destaca de la propuesta es el conocimiento de condiciones urbanas de cada uno de los sectores y tramos del eje, que reconoce los lugares de encuentro tradicionales a lo largo de éste, facilitando y reforzando el desarrollo de las actividades que ahí se realizan por parte de quienes presentaron el proyecto.
Uno de los principales cambios y más llamativos es la transformación de la Plaza Italia en una explanada donde se podría celebrar sin problema. También cambiarían los ejes comerciales y corredor para el Transantiago.
-Renovación completa de la Alameda y Providencia desde Pajaritos a Tobalaba, 11,3 Km.
-Proyecto que integra a diferentes organismos del gobierno y lo conduce el Gobierno Regional Metropolitano de Santiago.
-Corredor segregado de buses que permite subir los estándares de seguridad, velocidad y evasión de pago de pasajes.
-Proyecto coordinado con la futura licitación de buses del Transantiago.
-Ciclovía de alta calidad y veredas anchas con accesibilidad universal.
-Contempla la misma calidad urbana en Providencia, Santiago, Estación Central y Lo Prado.
-Inversión de 220 millones de dólares.
– Proceso inédito de participación ciudadana en todas las etapas del proyecto liderado por la Fundación Casa de la Paz
El inicio de las obras está programado para el segundo semestre del 2017, aunque antes se debe pasar por una etapa de diseño que se desarrollara entre el 2016 y 2017.
